Female Pedestrian Killed In Hit-Run On Long Island Reportedly Knew Suspect

Mary Ginty, 31, of South Beach, was found dead on Monday, June 24, in front of 55 Miller Place Road, after being hit by a Hyundai driven by John Lang of Ridge, said the Suffolk County Police.

Lang, who was charged with leaving the scene of the fatal crash, knew Ginty, although prosecutors would not say how, reported ABC 7 Eyewitness News .

Calls and emails to the prosecutor's office were not returned. 

Following the crash, Lang was identified as the suspect and arrested at his parent's Ridge home. He is reported to be homeless, according to his attorney. 

He is being held on $75,000 bond.

Eyewitness News said it is working to confirm whether or not Ginty was pregnant.
